Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott says he has unfinished business in Dallas and is open to returning to the team next season.
The 27-year-old running back is set to become a free agent in March, and there has been speculation that he could leave the Cowboys after seven seasons with the team.
However, Elliott said in a recent interview that he is open to staying in Dallas and that he feels like he has unfinished business with the Cowboys.
I love playing in Dallas, Elliott said. I love the fans, I love the city, I love the organization. I’ve built a lot of great relationships here, and I feel like we have unfinished business. We haven’t won a Super Bowl yet, and I want to be a part of that.
Elliott has been one of the most productive running backs in the NFL since entering the league in 2016. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons with the Cowboys, and he has led the NFL in rushing twice.
However, the Cowboys have not had much success in the playoffs during Elliott’s tenure. The team has won just one playoff game since 2014, and it has not reached the NFC Championship Game since 1995.
Elliott said that he believes the Cowboys can be a Super Bowl contender next season, and he is excited about the possibility of returning to the team.
I think we have a lot of talent on this team, Elliott said. We have a great young quarterback in Dak Prescott, and we have a lot of playmakers on offense and defense. I think we can make a run next year.
The Cowboys have been linked to several other running backs in free agency, including Saquon Barkley and Kareem Hunt. However, Elliott said that he is not worried about the competition and that he is confident in his ability to be the Cowboys’ lead running back next season.
I’m not worried about anybody else, Elliott said. I’m just focused on myself and on what I can do to help this team win. I’m confident in my abilities, and I know that I can be the best running back in the NFL.
Elliott’s potential return to the Cowboys would be a major boost for the team. He is one of the best running backs in the NFL, and he is a key part of the Cowboys’ offense. If he returns, the Cowboys will have a good chance to be a playoff contender next season.
Kind regards J. Brown.
