Investigation Uncovers Crocuses
A team of investigators, including the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and the Capitol Police, have cleared the Wisconsin Capitol Tulip Garden of suspected marijuana plants.
A Misidentification
The investigation was launched after several people reported seeing plants that resembled marijuana in the garden. However, upon closer examination, the plants were identified as crocuses, a type of spring-blooming flower.
No Charges Filed
No charges have been filed in connection with the incident. The investigators determined that the crocuses were likely planted by accident or by a well-intentioned gardener who mistook them for tulips.
Tulip Garden Reopens
The Tulip Garden has since reopened to the public. Visitors are reminded that it is illegal to plant or possess marijuana in Wisconsin.
