So much has happened at FC Bayern in recent weeks and months.
The club has once again been eliminated from the Champions League at an early stage, the relationship between sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and head coach Julian Nagelsmann is repeatedly said to be strained, and the general atmosphere around Säbener Strasse seems to have deteriorated noticeably.
The coaching question
The coaching question is now becoming more and more urgent.
Nagelsmann’s contract runs until 2026, but it is becoming increasingly clear that this is not a guarantee for the future.
There are several reasons for this.
- First, Nagelsmann’s playing style has not yet fully convinced the Bayern bosses.
- Second, the communication between Nagelsmann and Salihamidzic is not working properly.
- Third, Nagelsmann has not yet managed to get the dressing room completely behind him.
It is therefore quite possible that Bayern will be looking for a new coach in the summer.
But who could that be?
There are a number of names that have been circulating in recent weeks.
- One of them is Thomas Tuchel.
- The former Chelsea coach is currently without a club and would certainly be an interesting option for Bayern.
Another candidate is Erik ten Hag.
- The Dutchman has done a great job at Manchester United so far and would also be a good fit for Bayern.
However, it is also possible that Bayern will opt for a less well-known coach.
- One name that has been mentioned is Domenico Tedesco.
- The former Leipzig coach is currently without a club and would certainly be a cheaper option than Tuchel or ten Hag.
It remains to be seen who will eventually take over as coach at FC Bayern.
But it is clear that the club is facing a difficult decision.
The next few weeks and months will be crucial for the future of FC Bayern.
Kind regards
