Yadav thanks fans and teammates for their support
Newly appointed Mumbai Indians captain Suryakumar Yadav has released a video message thanking fans and teammates for their support.
I am humbled and honored to be given this opportunity, Yadav said. I promise to give my all to the team and to the city of Mumbai.
Yadav was named Mumbai Indians captain on March 14, following the retirement of Rohit Sharma. He is the first player from Maharashtra to captain the team.
In his video message, Yadav said that he is excited about the challenge of leading the Mumbai Indians and that he is confident that the team can achieve great things under his leadership.
Yadav also thanked Rohit Sharma for his support and guidance. Rohit has been a great mentor to me, and I am grateful for his help and advice, Yadav said.
The Mumbai Indians will begin their IPL 2023 campaign on March 26 against the Delhi Capitals.
