Gill, leading the team for the first time in his career, played a pivotal role in guiding India to a nail-biting five-wicket win, securing a 2-1 series victory.
Sundar’s Commendations
- Gill did a tremendous job as captain, said Sundar after the match. He took some bold decisions and led the team with great maturity.
- He showed great tactical acumen and was always one step ahead of Zimbabwe’s plans.
- His positive attitude and unwavering belief in the team inspired us all to perform at our best.
Gill’s Impressive Tactical Moves
Gill’s tactical decisions included opting to field first despite winning the toss, a move that paid off as Zimbabwe struggled to post a significant total. He also rotated his bowlers intelligently, ensuring that Zimbabwe’s dangerous batters were never given a chance to settle.
