Cardiff Blues winger to skip Tests with South Africa and Argentina
Adams has been capped for Wales 40 times and has scored 21 tries
Cardiff Blues winger Josh Adams has explained his decision to miss Wales’ summer tour of South Africa and Argentina.
The 26-year-old, who has been capped for Wales 40 times and has scored 21 tries, said he wanted to focus on his recovery from a shoulder injury.
Adams also said he wanted to spend time with his family before the start of the new season.
I’ve made the decision to miss the summer tour to focus on my recovery from a shoulder injury and to spend time with my family before the start of the new season, Adams said.
It was a tough decision, but I believe it’s the right one for me at this time.
I’d like to wish the boys all the best on tour and I’ll be cheering them on from home.
Adams’ decision to miss the tour is a blow to Wales, who are already without a number of key players through injury.
The likes of Leigh Halfpenny, Justin Tipuric, and Taulupe Faletau are all unavailable for the tour, which starts on July 2 against South Africa in Pretoria.
Wales will also play Argentina in San Juan on July 9 and Santa Fe on July 16.
