Flames engulf the attic – The fire brigade is on duty with a large contingent
Fürth – On Thursday evening, a fire broke out in an apartment building in Fürth. As a result, several neighboring buildings had to be evacuated.
Massive deployment of the fire brigade
According to a report by the fire brigade, the fire was first reported to the control center around 7:30 p.m. Emergency services found a fully developed attic fire upon arrival at the scene.
The fire brigade immediately launched a large-scale operation. Initially, however, the extinguishing work proved difficult due to the strong smoke development.
Several neighboring buildings evacuated
As a precaution, the fire brigade evacuated several neighboring buildings. Around 100 people were affected by this measure.
After about an hour, the fire brigade was able to bring the fire under control. However, extinguishing work is still ongoing.
What caused the fire is still unclear
The cause of the fire is still unknown. The police have initiated investigations.
There are no reports of injuries so far.
