Driver of Heavy Goods Vehicle Arrested
Following a fatal collision on the A61, Derbyshire Police have arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Investigation Ongoing
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, involved a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) and a car. The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision. The HGV driver was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody.
Witnesses Sought
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.

Road Closure
The A61 was closed in both directions between Ripley and Clay Cross following the collision. The road has since reopened, but motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
