The two fighters traded barbs in the lead-up to their April 1st fight.
Shakur Stevenson has mocked Gervonta Davis’ boxing knowledge as casual ahead of their highly anticipated showdown.
The two fighters have been trading barbs in the lead-up to their April 1st fight, with Stevenson particularly critical of Davis’ boxing IQ.
He’s a casual, Stevenson said. He doesn’t know anything about boxing. I’m going to school him on April 1st.
So what’s the problem?
Stevenson’s comments stem from a recent interview in which Davis appeared to struggle to name some of the current top pound-for-pound fighters.
When asked to name his top 5, Davis could only name three: Terence Crawford, Errol Spence Jr., and Manny Pacquiao.
Stevenson believes that this shows that Davis is not as knowledgeable about boxing as he claims to be.
He doesn’t even know who the top fighters are, Stevenson said. How is he going to beat me if he doesn’t even know who I am?
Davis’ response
Davis has not yet responded to Stevenson’s comments, but he is sure to do so in the lead-up to the fight.
The two fighters are expected to face off in a press conference next week, which is sure to be heated.
The fight between Stevenson and Davis is one of the most anticipated fights of the year, and it is sure to live up to the hype.
The winner of this fight will be crowned the best fighter in the lightweight division, and it will be a major step towards becoming a pound-for-pound great.
Kind regards
