Confirmed: Klopp will take all necessary steps to avoid injuries
After another injury blow, manager Jurgen Klopp has said he will take all necessary steps to avoid the increasing list of Liverpool players out injured.
Klopp has 12 players currently not training for various reasons, including summer signing Thiago Alcantara.
Midfielder Alcantara has revealed he suffered a knee injury while on international duty with Spain last week, which is expected to keep him out for up to six weeks.
Klopp said: I am not happy about the injury, but there was nothing we could do to avoid it.
Thiago is a great player and we will miss him, but we have other players who can come in and do a good job.
We will take all the necessary steps to make sure that we avoid any more injuries. with Klopp adding: We have a lot of games coming up and we need to make sure that we have a strong squad.
Klopp will seek medical advice
The German said he will seek medical advice on how to avoid further injuries.
We will speak to the medical team and see what they recommend, he said.
We will do everything we can to make sure that we have a fit and healthy squad.
Tough period for the recruitment team
With a number of injuries, this is set to present a tough period for the Reds recruitment team.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks, including RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano and Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago.
However, Klopp has said that he is not looking to make any signings in January.
We have a good squad and I am confident that we can challenge for the title, he said.

Wijnaldum contract talks still ongoing
Georginio Wijnaldum’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and there has been much speculation about his future.
Klopp said that he is still in talks with the Dutch midfielder about a new deal.
