Dallas Police Department Statement
On May 18, 2023, at approximately 10:30 PM, Dallas Police officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a residence in the Highland Park neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Scottie Scheffler, the reigning Masters champion and world number one golfer. Scheffler was intoxicated and uncooperative with officers.
After refusing to comply with officers’ commands, Scheffler was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Scheffler was transported to the Dallas County Jail, where he was booked and released on bond.
PGA Championship Status
The PGA Championship is scheduled to begin on May 19, 2023, at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
It is unclear at this time whether Scheffler will be able to participate in the tournament. The PGA of America has not yet commented on the situation.
