Salah Close to Penning New Deal
Mohamed Salah is reportedly on the verge of signing a contract extension with Liverpool. The Egyptian winger’s current deal expires in 2023, and the club has been eager to tie him down to a new one.
According to The Athletic, Salah and Liverpool have agreed on the terms of the new contract. The deal is believed to be worth around £350,000 per week, which would make Salah the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
Robertson Injury Update
Andrew Robertson has been ruled out for Liverpool’s upcoming game against Manchester United. The Scottish full-back suffered a hamstring injury in training and is expected to be sidelined for around two weeks.
Robertson’s absence will be a blow to Liverpool, who are already without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez due to injury. Kostas Tsimikas is likely to start at left-back against United.
Defender Transfer Buzz
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Torino defender Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian has impressed with his performances in Serie A this season, and Liverpool are reportedly keen on bringing him to Anfield.
However, Torino are said to be reluctant to sell Bremer, who is under contract until 2024. Liverpool would likely have to pay a significant fee to land the 25-year-old.
