US Considers Providing Ukraine with Military Equipment
Russia has strongly condemned proposals to provide Ukraine with American weapons, warning of serious consequences if such a move is implemented.
The US government is reportedly considering sending military equipment to Ukraine, including anti-tank missiles and air defense systems. These weapons would be used by Ukrainian forces in their ongoing conflict with Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine.
Russia has denounced these proposals, claiming that they would only escalate the conflict and increase the risk of a wider war between the two countries.
The supply of any weapons to Ukraine will be considered by us as a hostile act, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
Moscow has warned that it would take retaliatory measures if the US proceeds with its plans.
The US has not yet made a final decision on whether to provide weapons to Ukraine. However, the Biden administration has been increasingly critical of Russia’s actions in Ukraine and has imposed sanctions on Russian individuals and entities.
