Dan Biggar Punishment Announced, Wales to Meet New Opponent
Biggar Suspended for Six Weeks
Dan Biggar, the Wales and Northampton Saints fly-half, has been suspended for six weeks after being found guilty of a dangerous tackle on Gloucester’s Charlie Chapman during the Premiership match on 10th September.
Biggar was cited by match officials and appeared before an independent disciplinary panel on Wednesday. The panel found that Biggar’s tackle was reckless and dangerous and that he had made contact with Chapman’s head.
The suspension means that Biggar will miss Wales’ upcoming autumn internationals against Australia, South Africa, Fiji, and New Zealand. He will also miss four Premiership matches for Northampton.
Wales to Face Georgia
Wales will face Georgia in a one-off international on 27th October at Principality Stadium. The match will serve as a warm-up for Wales’ autumn internationals.
Georgia is a rising force in international rugby and is currently ranked 13th in the world. They have recently beaten Romania, Spain, and Portugal, and will provide Wales with a tough test.
The match will be the first time that Wales has faced Georgia at senior level.
