Revised Course and Race Director for T5.2 Trucks at 2025 Dakar Rally
The T5.2 category for trucks at the 2025 Dakar Rally is set to undergo significant changes, with a revised course and a new race director. The changes are designed to make the category more challenging and competitive, while also improving safety.
A New Course
The 2025 Dakar Rally will take place in Saudi Arabia, and the T5.2 trucks will face a new course that is longer and more challenging than in previous years. The course will include a mix of terrain, including sand dunes, rocky tracks, and mountain passes. The total distance of the course will be around 10,000 kilometers, and the trucks will have to complete the course in just 14 days.
A New Race Director
In addition to the revised course, the T5.2 category will also have a new race director for the 2025 Dakar Rally. David Castera will take over as race director, and he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the category, including the course, the regulations, and the safety of the competitors.
Improved Safety
Safety is a top priority for the Dakar Rally, and the organizers are taking a number of steps to improve safety for the T5.2 trucks in 2025. These steps include:
- Requiring all trucks to be equipped with a roll cage and a fire extinguisher.
- Limiting the speed of the trucks to 140 kilometers per hour.
- Providing medical assistance to the trucks throughout the course.
A More Challenging and Competitive Category
The changes to the T5.2 category for the 2025 Dakar Rally are designed to make the category more challenging and competitive. The longer and more challenging course will test the limits of the trucks and their drivers, and the new race director will ensure that the category is run in a fair and safe manner. The changes are sure to make the T5.2 category one of the most exciting and challenging at the 2025 Dakar Rally.
