Revealed: England XI vs. Spain: One alteration, no Liverpool players in starting lineup for final.
Southgate makes one change from the side that beat Sweden as the Three Lions prepare to face Spain in the Nations League final.
Gareth Southgate has made one change to his England team for the Nations League final against Spain, with Trent Alexander-Arnold dropping out of the starting lineup.
The Liverpool defender has been replaced by Kieran Trippier at right-back, while the rest of the team remains unchanged from the side that beat Sweden in the semi-final.
That means Jordan Pickford will start in goal, with a back three of Kyle Walker, John Stones and Harry Maguire in front of him.
Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips will play in central midfield, with Mason Mount, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling operating in behind Harry Kane.
Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are both included in the squad but will start on the bench.
England will be looking to win their first major trophy since the 1966 World Cup, while Spain are aiming to add to their record-breaking tally of 10 European Championship titles.
The match will be played at the San Siro in Milan, Italy, on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
England starting lineup:
- Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford
- Defenders: Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire
- Midfielders: Kieran Trippier, Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips, Mason Mount, Phil Foden
- Forwards: Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane
