Raya Contract Extension
Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has signed a new five-year contract with the club, keeping him at the Brentford Community Stadium until the summer of 2028. The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Bees since joining from Blackburn Rovers in 2019, making over 100 appearances in all competitions.
Raya has been in excellent form this season, keeping six clean sheets in 16 Premier League games. His performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, but Brentford have been determined to keep hold of their prized asset.
The new contract is a reward for Raya’s fine form and a sign of Brentford’s ambition to continue to compete at the top level.
Arteta on Transfers
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has discussed the club’s transfer plans ahead of the January window. The Gunners are expected to be active in the market, as they look to strengthen their squad and challenge for a top-four finish.
Arteta has said that the club are looking at all areas of the squad, but he refused to be drawn on specific targets. He said: We are looking at all areas. We have a plan, we have a strategy, and we are working hard to implement it. We will see what happens in January.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of players in recent months, including Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic and Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. However, Arteta refused to confirm whether the club are interested in these players.
He said: I don’t want to talk about individual players. We are looking at all areas, and we will see what happens in January.
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League, four points behind fourth-placed West Ham United. They will be looking to strengthen their squad in January in order to challenge for a top-four finish and qualify for the Champions League.
Kind regards
