After strong starts this season, young forwards Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko are expected to take the next step in their development and become key contributors for the Rangers next season.
The New York Rangers have high hopes for the future, and a big part of that is due to the young talent on their roster. Alexis Lafreniere has already shown what he can do, and now it’s time for Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko to take the next step in their development.
Both Chytil and Kakko had strong starts to the 2022-23 season. Chytil had 5 goals and 4 assists in his first 12 games, while Kakko had 4 goals and 3 assists in his firt 11 games. Both players were playing with confidence and looked like they were on the verge of breaking out.
However, both players hit a bit of a wall in the second half of the season. Chytil only had 5 goals and 4 assists in his final 35 games, while Kakko had 4 goals and 5 assists in his final 30 games.
Despite the slow finish to the season, the Rangers are still confident that Chytil and Kakko can be key contributors next season. Both players are still young and have shown flashes of their potential.
Chytil is a skilled centerman who has good vision and passing ability. He is also a good skater and has a decent shot. Kakko is a big, strong winger who can play both the left and right wing. He is a good skater and has a hard shot.
Both Chytil and Kakko have the potential to be top-six forwards in the NHL. If they can take the next step in their development, they will be a big part of the Rangers’ success next season.
Kind regards R. Bauer.
