OSPF Lab 1: Practitioner’s Guide

Objective

This lab provides step-by-step instructions for configuring OSPF on Cisco routers.

Topology

The topology consists of three routers: R1, R2, and R3.

Equipment

* Three Cisco routers
* Console cables
* Ethernet cables

Procedure

Step 1: Configure Router R1

1. Connect to Router R1 using a console cable.
2. Enter privileged EXEC mode.
3. Configure the hostname and IP address for R1.
4. Enable OSPF.
5. Configure the OSPF process ID.
6. Define the OSPF area.
7. Assign the interfaces to the OSPF area.

Step 2: Configure Router R2

1. Repeat Step 1 for Router R2.

Step 3: Configure Router R3

1. Repeat Step 1 for Router R3.

Step 4: Verify OSPF Configuration

1. Verify the OSPF configuration on each router.
2. Check the OSPF neighbor relationships.
3. Test the OSPF routing table.
