Oilers Win Thrilling Game 5 to Advance
The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series on Tuesday night at Rogers Place. The victory gives the Oilers a 3-2 series lead and a berth in the second round.
Connor McDavid Leads the Way
Connor McDavid was once again the driving force behind the Oilers’ victory. The NHL’s leading scorer tallied two goals and added an assist in the win. His first goal came on a power play in the first period, and he added his second in the third period to give the Oilers a 4-2 lead.
Kings Rally Late
The Kings showed great resilience in the third period. After falling behind 4-1, they scored two goals in the span of 3:19 to cut the lead to 4-3. However, the Oilers held on for the victory and advanced to the second round.
Game 6 Scheduled for Thursday
Game 6 of the series will be played in Los Angeles on Thursday night. The Kings will need to win to force a Game 7, while the Oilers will look to close out the series and advance to the second round.
