Saracen’s captain likes what he sees in Northampton’s early season form
Saints are two from two in the Gallagher Premiership
Northampton Saints’ early season form has been described as somewhat exciting by Saracens captain Jamie George.
The Saints have won their opening two matches in the Gallagher Premiership, beating Gloucester and Sale Sharks.
George, who is a former England international, said: Northampton have started the season really well. They’ve got a good squad and they’re playing with a lot of confidence.
They’re going to be a tough team to beat this season, and I’m sure they’ll be challenging for trophies.
Northampton’s director of rugby, Chris Boyd, said he was pleased with his team’s start to the season.
We’ve worked hard in pre-season and we’re starting to see the benefits of that now, he said.
The players are playing with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and we’re starting to build some good momentum.
We’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up, but we’re confident that we can continue to improve and challenge for the top four.
Northampton’s next match is against Harlequins at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday.
- Here are some of the key players to watch out for in Northampton’s team this season:
- Courtney Lawes (England international lock)
- Dan Biggar (Wales international fly-half)
- George North (Wales international winger)
- Tom Curry (England international flanker)
Kind regards
