NATO Secretary-General Stoltenberg sends message of support to Ukraine
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has sent a message of support to Ukraine, reiterating the alliance’s commitment to the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Stoltenberg said that NATO stands firmly behind Ukraine and that the alliance is determined to continue providing political and practical support to Ukraine’s efforts to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Stoltenberg’s letter comes as Ukraine continues to face aggression from Russia, which has annexed Crimea and backed separatists in eastern Ukraine. In recent weeks, there have been increased tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with both sides accusing the other of ceasefire violations.
In his letter, Stoltenberg said that NATO is deeply concerned about the situation in eastern Ukraine and that the alliance is calling on Russia to end its aggression and withdraw its forces from Ukraine. Stoltenberg also said that NATO is prepared to respond to any further aggression from Russia.
