Promoted by Matchroom Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions, a 10-round super welterweight fight between Nico Ali Walsh and Alejandro Ibarra will take place as the co-feature of a DAZN-streamed event headlined by the all-Mexican super middleweight clash between Canelo Álvarez and Jaime Munguia when it takes place on Saturday, May 4th the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Nico Ali Walsh
Walsh (7-0, 5 KOs), the grandson of Muhammad Ali, has been a professional for just over two years but has already shown that he has the potential to be a star in the sport. He is a skilled boxer with a good jab and quick hands, and he has shown power in his punches as well. Walsh is still just 22 years old, so he has plenty of time to develop, but he is already one of the most exciting young fighters in the sport.
Alejandro Ibarra
Ibarra (19-4, 11 KOs) is a tough and experienced fighter who will provide a good test for Walsh. He has been in the ring with some of the best fighters in the world, including former world champion Sergey Kovalev. Ibarra is not a big puncher, but he is a skilled boxer who can make his opponents miss. He is also very durable, and he has never been knocked out.
What to Expect
The Walsh-Ibarra fight is expected to be a competitive and exciting match-up. Walsh is the more talented fighter, but Ibarra is a tough and experienced opponent who will not go down without a fight. This is a fight that could go either way, and it should be a great addition to the Canelo-Munguia undercard.
In addition to the Walsh-Ibarra fight, the May 4th card will also feature a number of other intriguing match-ups, including:
- Montana Love vs. Gabriel Rosado (super welterweight)
- Diego Pacheco vs. Enrique Collazo (super middleweight)
- Raymond Muratalla vs. Elias Espadas (super lightweight)
The Canelo-Munguia card is shaping up to be one of the best boxing events of the year. With a number of exciting fights on the undercard, this is a card that you won’t want to miss.
Kind regards C. Christensen.
