Team Penske’s Joey Logano will fill in for Hailie Deegan in the No. 4 Ford Mustang for DGR-Crosley at Chicago Street Course.
Logano, the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series champion, will make his first Xfinity Series start since 2017. He has 26 career Xfinity Series wins, including one at Chicagoland Speedway in 2013.
Deegan, 20, is currently 15th in the Xfinity Series standings. She has one top-five finish and four top-10s in 16 starts this season.
“I’m really excited to get back in the Xfinity car and race at Chicago,” Logano said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to help Hailie and the DGR-Crosley team. I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel and seeing what we can do.”
Deegan is excited to have Logano as a teammate for the weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to having Joey as a teammate this weekend,” Deegan said. “He’s one of the best drivers in NASCAR, and I’m sure I can learn a lot from him. I’m hoping to have a good run and finish the race strong.”
The Xfinity Series race at Chicago Street Course is scheduled for Saturday, July 1, at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
