Liverpool fielded a team of 25 players in their pre-season friendly against Preston North End on Saturday, but it was the Championship side who emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.
Henderson Returns for Liverpool
The match marked the return of Jordan Henderson to action for Liverpool after he missed the majority of last season with a knee injury. The Reds’ captain played the first 45 minutes and looked sharp, before being replaced by Thiago Alcantara at half-time.
Grujic Makes Impact for Preston
The only goal of the game came in the second half, when Marko Grujic headed home a cross from Ben Woodburn. Grujic, who is on loan at Preston from Liverpool, was one of the standout performers on the day.
