Salah and Carvalho back at AXA Training Centre after extended breaks
Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho have returned to Liverpool’s pre-season training after extended breaks following international commitments.
Salah was part of the Egypt squad that reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, while Carvalho represented Portugal at the Under-21 European Championship.
The duo missed Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Singapore but are now back in training and available for selection for the Reds’ remaining friendlies.
Gordon interest
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Anthony Gordon from Everton.
The 21-year-old winger has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, and it is believed that Liverpool have made an enquiry about his availability.
Gordon is a product of Everton’s academy and has made over 60 appearances for the Toffees. He is a versatile player who can play on either wing or as a central striker.
It is understood that Everton are reluctant to sell Gordon, but they may be forced to cash in on the player if they receive a significant offer.
Other transfer news
In other transfer news, Liverpool are said to be close to signing Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.
The 18-year-old right-back has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent months, and it is believed that a deal is now close to being agreed.
Ramsay is a highly-rated prospect who has already broken into the Scotland national team. He is seen as a long-term replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool.
