Bayer Leverkusen are closing in on a deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Aleix Garcia, according to reports in Germany.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium for some time, and it now appears that Leverkusen are set to secure his signature.
Garcia has made just 10 appearances for City’s first team, and he spent last season on loan at Girona in Spain.
Leverkusen are believed to be offering around €15 million for Garcia, and the deal could be completed in the coming days.
The Spaniard would join a Leverkusen side that is looking to build on a fourth-place finish in the Bundesliga last season.
Garcia would add creativity and energy to the Leverkusen midfield, and he could be a key player for them in the coming season.
If the deal goes through, Garcia will become the latest in a long line of Spanish players to join Leverkusen.
Some of the most notable include:
- Xabi Alonso
- Arturo Vidal
- Hakan Calhanoglu
- Chicharito Hernandez
Garcia will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of these players and make a significant impact at the BayArena.
Kind regards B. McDowell.
