‘Snowshoe’ leaves the bush for a life of retirement
A legendary horse that has been hailed as the bush Phar Lap has officially retired from racing, leaving behind an incredible legacy on the Australian bush racing circuit.
Affectionately known as Snowshoe, the 12-year-old gelding has won an astonishing 25 races during his illustrious career, making him one of the most successful bush racehorses of all time.
Retiring a champion
Snowshoe’s retirement comes after a thrilling career that saw him overcome countless challenges and achieve remarkable feats. He was renowned for his exceptional speed, endurance, and ability to adapt to any track conditions.
In addition to his race wins, Snowshoe also holds the record for the most consecutive wins in the prestigious Northern Territory Cup, a grueling race over three days and 250 kilometers.
Farewell from the bush
