Klopp Takes on New Role
Jurgen Klopp has taken on a new role as a global ambassador for the SOS Children’s Villages charity. The Liverpool manager will help raise awareness of the charity’s work, which supports vulnerable children around the world.
Klopp said: I’m delighted to be able to support the SOS Children’s Villages charity. Their work is vital in providing a safe and loving environment for children who have lost or are at risk of losing their families.
Nunez Under Investigation
Darwin Nunez is being investigated by the Football Association (FA) for allegedly diving during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Saturday. The Uruguayan striker went down in the penalty area in the second half, but referee Craig Pawson waved away his appeals.
The FA is now looking into the incident and could charge Nunez with simulation. If found guilty, he could face a two-match ban.
Slot Offers Insights
Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has offered insights into his side’s 2-1 win over Liverpool in a pre-season friendly last week. Slot said that his team had played with a lot of confidence and had deserve to win.
Slot also praised Liverpool’s quality, saying that they were one of the best teams in the world. However, he said that his team had been able to exploit their weaknesses and had taken our chances.
Liverpool will face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday before beginning their Premier League campaign against Fulham on August 6.
