Klopp on recent performances and upcoming fixtures
Jurgen Klopp faced the media on Friday afternoon to preview Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures against Manchester City and West Ham, and to discuss the team’s recent performances.
On Liverpool’s recent form, Klopp said: We’ve had some good results and some not-so-good results recently. But we’re still in a good position in the league, and we’re still in the Champions League. We just need to keep working hard and improving our performances.
On the upcoming fixtures against Manchester City and West Ham, Klopp said: These are two big games for us. Manchester City are the best team in the country, and West Ham are a very good team too. We’ll need to be at our best to get results in both games.
Salah and Van Dijk nominated for UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have been nominated for the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award.
Salah has been in excellent form for Liverpool this season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions. Van Dijk has also been in impressive form, helping Liverpool to keep 12 clean sheets in the Premier League.
The winner of the award will be announced on August 29.
Inacio update
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio.
The 20-year-old has been a regular for Sporting this season, and has also been capped by Portugal at under-21 level.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Inacio as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
