Harris is expected to speak at the service, along with other dignitaries, including President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama. Jackson Lee was a trailblazing figure in American politics, serving in the House of Representatives for 30 years.
She was the first black woman to represent Texas in Congress and the first black woman to chair the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security.
