Itoje Given Green Light for Saracens’ Final Games
Scrum Ace Returns to Bolster Sarries
England and British & Irish Lions lock Maro Itoje has been passed fit to play in Saracens’ final two matches of the season, providing a major boost to the club’s hopes of a successful end to the campaign.
Return from Injury
Itoje has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury in Saracens’ Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final win over Leinster in April. The injury initially raised concerns that he could miss the rest of the season, but he has made a quicker-than-expected recovery.
The 27-year-old has been a key player for Saracens this season, making 20 appearances and scoring two tries. His return to fitness will be a welcome boost for the club, who are currently second in the Gallagher Premiership table and have reached the semi-finals of the Heineken Champions Cup.
Crucial Matches
Saracens have two crucial matches remaining this season. They travel to Bath in the Gallagher Premiership on 14 May before hosting Exeter Chiefs in the Heineken Champions Cup semi-final on 21 May.
Itoje is expected to start both matches and his presence is likely to be a major factor in Saracens’ chances of success. The club will be hoping to finish the season with a flourish and Itoje’s return will give them a much-needed boost.
Kind regards
C. Dixon.
