Bitter rivals set to collide in battle for British and Commonwealth titles
Unification fight could pave the way for world title shot
Two of Britain’s most popular and respected heavyweights, Joe Joyce and Derek Chisora, will collide in a blockbuster clash at The O2 in London on July 27, live on BT Sport.
The bitter rivals will finally settle their differences in the ring, with the vacant British and Commonwealth titles up for grabs.
Joyce, the WBO No.1 contender, is the favourite going into the fight. The 37-year-old has won all 13 of his professional fights, including impressive victories over Daniel Dubois and Carlos Takam.
Chisora, meanwhile, is a seasoned veteran with over 40 fights to his name. The 38-year-old has faced some of the biggest names in the heavyweight division, including Vitali Klitschko, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight is expected to be a close and competitive affair. Both Joyce and Chisora are powerful punchers with granite chins.
The winner of the fight will be in pole position for a world title shot. Joyce is already the WBO No.1 contender, while Chisora is ranked in the top 10 by all four major sanctioning bodies.
The fight is sure to be a sell-out, with fans eager to see two of Britain’s best heavyweights go head-to-head.
