About the Honorees
Larry Bird
Larry Bird is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He was a 12-time All-Star, 10-time All-NBA selection, and three-time NBA MVP. He led the Boston Celtics to three NBA championships in 1981, 1984, and 1986.
Dave Bing
Dave Bing was a seven-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection. He led the Detroit Pistons to the NBA Finals in 1974. He was also a successful businessman and politician, serving as mayor of Detroit from 2009 to 2013.
Event Details
The event will begin with a welcome address from Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens. Bird and Bing will then speak about their careers and the importance of basketball in their lives.
