Giants’ Offense: Is Additional Firepower Required?
The New York Giants have struggled to score points in recent seasons.
The Giants have finished in the bottom half of the NFL in scoring offense in each of the past three seasons. In 2021, they averaged just 17.5 points per game, which was 29th in the league.
There are a number of factors that have contributed to the Giants’ offensive struggles. One major issue has been the play of the offensive line. The Giants have not had a consistently good offensive line in years, and it has shown in their inability to protect the quarterback and create running lanes.
Another issue has been the lack of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. The Giants have not had a true number one wide receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019. They also have not had a consistent running back since Saquon Barkley was injured in 2020.
The Giants have made some changes to their offense in the offseason.
The Giants have made some changes to their offense in the offseason in an effort to improve their scoring output. They signed wide receiver Kenny Golladay and tight end Kyle Rudolph in free agency, and they also drafted wide receiver Kadarius Toney in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
These additions should help the Giants’ offense, but it remains to be seen whether they will be enough to make a significant difference.
The Giants need to find ways to score more points if they want to contend in 2022.
The Giants need to find ways to score more points if they want to contend in 2022. They have a lot of talent on their offense, but they need to be able to put it all together on a consistent basis.
If the Giants can’t find a way to score more points, they will likely be in for another long season.
Here are a few things the Giants can do to improve their scoring offense:
- Get better play from the offensive line.
- Develop more playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.
- Find a more consistent running game.
- Improve their red zone efficiency.
It won’t be easy, but the Giants have the potential to be a much better scoring offense in 2022. They just need to put it all together on a consistent basis.
Kind regards J. Brown.
