Salary Pending from BCCI
Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has not received his salary from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the last four months. Gambhir was appointed as the BCCI’s player representative in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Committee in November 2021.
India Coach Can Appoint Own Support Staff
The BCCI has allowed the newly appointed India head coach Rahul Dravid to appoint his own support staff. Dravid, who took over from Ravi Shastri after the T20 World Cup, has the authority to choose his backroom team, including assistant coaches, trainers, and physiotherapists.
Assistant Coaches
* Batting coach: VVS Laxman
* Bowling coach: Paras Mhambrey
* Fielding coach: T Dilip
Trainers
* Strength and conditioning coach: Nick Webb
* Physiotherapist: Yogesh Parmar
Other Support Staff
* Team manager: Ravi Shastri (former head coach)
* Video analyst: Gaurav Sundararaman
Conclusion
The BCCI’s decision to allow Dravid to appoint his own support staff is a significant departure from the past. It gives the coach more control over the team and allows him to create a backroom setup that aligns with his vision for the team.
With Dravid at the helm and a strong support staff in place, the Indian team will be looking to build on their recent successes and achieve even greater heights in the future.
