Community Health Team Encourages Attendees to Check Their Substances before Consuming
Fraser Health is once again providing complimentary drug testing services at the annual FVDED in the Park music festival in Surrey, British Columbia. The team will be offering services from Thursday, July 13 to Sunday, July 16.
The team will be located near the first aid tent and the community safety tent. Services will be available from 12 pm to 10 pm each day.
Why Get Your Drugs Tested?
Drug testing is an important tool for reducing the risk of drug-related harms. By getting your drugs tested, you can:
- Identify substances
- Check for unexpected ingredients
- Reduce the risk of consuming high-potency drugs
- Make informed decisions about your drug use
Fraser Health’s drug testing services are completely confidential. No personal information is collected, and results are not shared with law enforcement or other organizations.
How to Get Your Drugs Tested
To get your drugs tested, simply bring a small sample to the Fraser Health tent. The team will test your sample using a variety of methods, including:
- Colorimetric testing
- Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
Results are typically available within 15 minutes.
What to Do with Your Results
Once you have your results, the Fraser Health team can help you interpret them and discuss your options. If your drugs contain unexpected ingredients or high-potency drugs, the team can provide information on how to reduce the risks associated with consuming them.
Fraser Health encourages all festival attendees to take advantage of this free service. By getting your drugs tested, you can help keep yourself and others safe.
