On Ascension Day, the Thuringian police were kept busy with numerous calls.
Noise Disturbances and Fireworks
In Erfurt, the police were deployed 25 times due to noise disturbances from firecrackers and loud music. The officers imposed fines or issued warnings in several cases. In Gotha, a group of young people set off fireworks in a residential area. The police confiscated the fireworks and imposed fines.
Traffic Accidents
The police also responded to several traffic accidents. In Weimar, a driver lost control of his car and crashed into a parked vehicle. Both drivers were injured and taken to hospital. In Sonneberg, two cars collided at an intersection. One driver was slightly injured.
Other Incidents
In addition to noise disturbances and traffic accidents, the police also had to deal with other incidents. In Jena, a group of people were having a barbecue in a park without permission. The police ordered them to leave. In Eisenach, a man was arrested for theft.
Police Urges Public to Exercise Caution
