The race for the playoffs
With just over a month remaining in the regular season, the race for the playoffs is heating up. In the American League, the New York Yankees and Houston Astros are locked in a tight battle for the top spot in the East, while the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians are neck-and-neck in the Central. In the West, the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland A’s are fighting for the division lead, while the Seattle Mariners are looking to make a late push for a wild-card berth.
In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers are running away with the West, but the race for the East and Central divisions is still very much up for grabs. The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves are tied atop the East, while the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals are battling it out in the Central.
The MVP race
The MVP race is also heating up, with several players putting up impressive numbers. In the American League, Shohei Ohtani of the Angels is the favorite, as he is leading the league in both home runs and stolen bases. Other contenders include Aaron Judge of the Yankees, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Rafael Devers of the Boston Red Sox.
In the National League, Bryce Harper of the Phillies is the frontrunner, as he is leading the league in home runs and RBIs. Other contenders include Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres, Mookie Betts of the Dodgers, and Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals.
The Cy Young race
The Cy Young race is also very competitive, with several pitchers putting up impressive numbers. The Rookie of the Year race

Other contenders include Julio Rodríguez of the Mariners, Spencer Torkelson of the Tigers, and Bobby Witt Jr. of the Royals.
