Accident on the A1 near Osnabrück
On Thursday morning at around 7:30 a.m., a serious accident involving four trucks occurred on the A1 motorway near Osnabrück. According to initial findings, one of the trucks swerved to avoid a traffic jam, causing it to jackknife and collide with three other trucks.
The driver of the first truck was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to a hospital. The other drivers involved in the accident were slightly injured and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The accident caused major traffic disruptions on the A1 in both directions. The motorway was completely closed for several hours while emergency services worked to clear the wreckage. Rubberneckers caused further traffic chaos, slowing down traffic in both directions.
Traffic Restrictions and Delays
The A1 motorway was closed in both directions between the Osnabrück-Nord and Osnabrück-Sutthausen junctions. Traffic was diverted via local roads. Motorists were advised to expect significant delays and avoid the area if possible.
Diversions
