Bulls Bolster Backcourt Depth
The Chicago Bulls have acquired guard DJ Steward from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for a future second-round pick. Steward, a 6’3 sophomore out of Duke University, has shown promise as a playmaker and defender.
Promising Playmaker
Steward is a natural point guard with excellent court vision and passing ability. He averaged 4.7 assists per game in his sophomore season at Duke. His ability to create for others will provide the Bulls with another option in the backcourt.
Defensive Tenacity
Despite his height, Steward is a tough defender. He uses his quickness and anticipation to disrupt passing lanes and force turnovers. He averaged 1.6 steals per game last season.
Future Potential
At just 20 years old, Steward has plenty of room for growth. The Bulls are hopeful that he can develop into a reliable backup point guard and contribute to their playoff aspirations.
Bulls Outlook
The addition of Steward adds depth to the Bulls’ backcourt, which already features DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso. The team is aiming for a deep playoff run this season, and Steward’s playmaking and defensive skills could prove to be valuable assets.
Kind regards L. Dyer.
