Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive end Cameron Heyward has heaped praise upon Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, describing his on-field drive as unprecedentedly elevated.
Heyward, a seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection, faced Wilson and the Broncos in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season, a game that the Steelers narrowly won 23-20. Despite the outcome, Heyward was left deeply impressed by Wilson’s performance, which he believes has reached new heights since his move from the Seattle Seahawks to Denver.
Wilson’s command of the offense was simply remarkable, Heyward said. He was making plays with his arm and with his legs, and he kept our defense on its toes the entire game. It’s clear that he’s taken his game to a whole new level in Denver.
Heyward went on to commend Wilson’s leadership and his ability to inspire his teammates. He’s a true leader on and off the field, Heyward said. He knows how to get the best out of his players, and he’s always looking for ways to improve. I have no doubt that he’s going to lead the Broncos to great things this season.
Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, has enjoyed a stellar start to his Broncos career. Through the first two games of the season, he has thrown for 596 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown. The Broncos are currently 1-1 on the season, with their only loss coming in a close contest against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.
The Broncos will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3, a matchup that will provide Wilson with another opportunity to showcase his elevated drive. If he can continue to perform at a high level, the Broncos will be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC this season.
Kind regards J. Brown.
