A Promising Start
Bobby McMann, the young American distance runner, burst onto the scene in 2019 with a remarkable performance at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. He placed second in the individual race and helped his team, the University of Oklahoma Sooners, to a third-place finish. His time of 29:01 was the fastest ever run by a freshman at the Championships.

McMann continued to impress in his sophomore year, winning the individual title at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and leading the Sooners to a team title. He also set a new personal best in the 5,000 meters, running 13:10.22.
