Hello, and welcome to the Arsecast bonus episode for July 8, 2024. I’m your host, Andrew Mangan, and I’m here with James Benge to talk about all things Arsenal.
Pre-season friendlies
Arsenal have won their first two pre-season friendlies, beating Boreham Wood 5-0 and Blackburn Rovers 2-0. New signing Gabriel Jesus has scored in both games, and he looks like he could be a real star for us.
We’ve also seen some good performances from some of our younger players, such as Ethan Nwaneri and Marquinhos. It’s great to see them getting some first-team experience, and it gives us hope for the future.
Transfer rumors
There have been a lot of transfer rumors circulating in recent weeks. Arsenal have been linked with a number of players, including Youri Tielemans, Lisandro Martinez, and Raphinha.
It’s difficult to say which of these rumors are true, but it’s clear that Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad this summer. We need to add some quality in depth, and we need to find a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.
Season preview
The new Premier League season starts in just over a month, and Arsenal will be looking to improve on their fifth-place finish last season. We have a tough start to the season, with games against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool in our first six matches.
But we have a good squad, and we’re confident that we can challenge for a top-four finish. We’re also excited about the Europa League, and we believe that we can go far in the competition.
