Victim identified, investigation ongoing
A man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after a garbage truck ran over him on Wednesday morning. The incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Elm Streets.
According to witnesses, the garbage truck was making a right turn onto Elm Street when it collided with the victim, who was crossing the street. The victim was thrown to the ground and run over by the truck.
The victim was identified as John Smith, a 55-year-old resident of the area. He was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries, including a broken leg and a head injury. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Police investigating
